A safe, secure, and scenic space for your furry friend to run free!

At Windhover Walkies, we believe every dog deserves the joy of off-lead freedom, whether they’re an energetic pup, a rescue in need of confidence, or simply a dog who loves to explore. Our fully enclosed field offers peace of mind, letting your four-legged companion stretch their legs, sniff to their heart’s content, and enjoy playtime in a beautiful, rural setting.

Whether you’re here for a fun run, recall training, or a quiet stroll together, we can’t wait to welcome you and your dog!

About Us

We’re passionate dog lovers who know just how important it is to have a safe, secure space for dogs to roam freely. Windhover Walkies was created to give dogs (and their humans!) a stress-free environment to enjoy quality time together, away from roads, distractions, and the worries of everyday life.

With a love for the countryside and a deep appreciation for happy, healthy dogs, we’ve designed a space that feels just right – open, peaceful, and perfect for running, playing, or simply exploring at their own pace. Whether you have a bouncy puppy, a nervous rescue, or a dog who just loves to stretch their legs, our field is here for you.

How It Works

Visiting Windhover Walkies is simple and hassle-free!

  1. Book your slot – Click the Book Now button to reserve your time and make payment.

  2. Arriving at the field – When you arrive, pull up to the wooden farm gate just off Southend Road. The gate will open automatically.

  3. Driving in – Drive slowly up the farm track past the house, and you’ll see the dog field ahead. Drive straight in and close the gate behind you before letting your dog out.

  4. Enjoy the freedom – Once you’re safely inside, return to your vehicle, let your dog out, and enjoy your session while they run free. Please remember to bag and take all dog poo away with you – let’s keep the field clean for everyone!

  5. Leaving the field – When it’s time to go, please put your dog back in your car before opening the gate. Leave the gate wide open and drive back down the track. Once again, the wooden farm gate will open automatically.

That’s it – simple, safe, and stress-free! We can’t wait to welcome you and your pup for a tail-wagging good time.

Where to Find Us

We are located at Thorpe Farm on Southend Road, about 150 metres along from the mini roundabout near The Rose Inn. Keep an eye out for a long hedge, and just by the traffic island, you’ll see a gap in the hedge with a wooden gate and a sign saying Thorpe Farm – that’s us!

For precise directions, our What3Words location is maybe.pouch.tunes

Simply pull in and wait for the electronic gate to open – there’s no need to use the intercom. Drive up the track slowly and be mindful of other visitors. If another vehicle is leaving, please be courteous and allow them to exit safely.

We look forward to welcoming you and your doggos!
